Day, um ... I leave this Friday
Ok, I think I'm a day behind so this will cover yesterday and today.

Yesterday was Sunday and that was the trip to Faria Tristan y Navarja, a huge, like 10 square blocks, of street vendors selling everythig from fruit and veg, fish (as in pets, not food!), clothing (new and used), muchas comidas, goth singing lady, animal balloon dude, plants, kitchenware (new and old), books (new and old), crazy everything. To say it was crowded is like saying the Titanic is a boat. And it was so hot there was no threat of an iceberg sinking the event.
I managed to buy a couple of gifts but was really conflicted. What to buy people? If I buy what I think friends will like, well I could be wrong. If I buy what I think is cool, I could still be wrong. So I decided to buy what I think is cool, but it has to be unique and original, that way even if the gift isn't cool in the eyes if the reciever, at least it will be cool because you can't get it anywhere else, right?
I let one perfect gift get away when I was here my first weekend so now I'm not trying to think twice about it!
It was so freaking hot yesterday I only stayed out for two hours from 11-1 and yeah a bad time to go to avoid the heat. So I came back, drank water, studied verbs, slept, watched the Dodgers, slept and then went to the movies to see Captain America (Spanish subtitles) in a very air conditioned theater 😊
It wasn't awful, much better than say The Eternals, but not great. It had a great cast but Harrison Ford was not a great choice for Gen Ross, but not totally horrible.
One character is a former Black Widow and completely unbelievable. Sam's sidekick is funny. Great fight scenes and a set up for the next series of films. Guest appearance by Sebastian Stan and Liv Tyler to telegraph Marvel direction and to help the plot. Apple product placement throughout. 2 stars but I liked it.
Today had breakfast at El Brasilesaro Got postcards and two more gifts. The meal is called El Brasilero and is like avocado toast with scrambled eggs and really yummy and the presentation ❤️
A really good class today and this week it all about conversaion, taking all we've learned 🫤 over the last three weeks and pitting them into practice. We started and finished today by breaking down a song in Spanish by a band called El Cuarto De Nos and the tune Ya No Sé Que Hacer Conmigo.
Listen on Spotify - Ya No Sé Que Hacer Conmigo
The tune is basically about a dude's experience of ennui, or a out teacher Sofia put it, "un vacio existential". I suggested the watch L'Avventura for a live action version of the word.
Such a great time and muchas palabras, adjectivos, verbos, sustantivos, everything in oast tense, so it was kinda grueling but also fun.
I might go back tonight for the dubbed-in-Spanish version of Captian America if I'm not too tired.
Ok chicos, I'm studying verbs now ❤️ Hasta proxima 👋🏼
