Day 9
First off Happy Birthday to one of my best friends, my ultimate travel buddy, and my favorite youngest son Finghín. He's 21 but at times 80 and at others 10. He's a really good man and if you know him you know what I mean. Happy Birthday Buddy Boy ❤️
Otherwise a chill day. Said bye to Silvie who's headed home to Czechia. It was great meeting such a great person who really helped me find my place here and give me some confidence. A trip to Czechia is in my future 🇨🇿
We made a bet and I apparently won but I don't even remember what the bet was 🤣 so she bought breakfast at Federatión where they serve panes, café, y ... CERVESA! Can you believe it? It's her last day so it's also a bit of a desayuno final 🙏🏼
I got pasteles zarahoria which came with added protein:
Silvie was like ewwwww, but I thought it was awesome. I ate maybe half of it before finding the larva but the manager only gave a 10% discount 🤔 I'll be there tomorrow for lunch because it's a pretty sweet spot, close to school, and even worms gotta eat 🐛 (note to Sean - no they do not have chivitos).
Spanish is supposedly easy, but putting together the context of an idea with the right pronoun (reflexive?), gender, object (indirect or direct?), and conjugate the verb (who did what?) correctly while remembering the exceptions and accents (esta no es está - well, really it would be esto, right? Sheesh - ) is uh ...
So I spent the day trying to prep for next week including laundry, food, and how I'm going to watch the Superbowl (DZAN is how 👍🏼) and happy to the the Eagles taking care of business (3rd quarter up 24-0).
Week 2 begins 👍🏼 Buena noches chicos ❤️
