Day 3

So today was the first day of class and I'm a bottom feeder, as I suspected 🫤 Yet for a flounder I did pretty well according to la maestra Maria.

There's another flounder with me, Jutta from Germany, and she's a hair above me in experience as her husband is from Uruguay and so she's got a lot more grammar than I do, but O know more words, according to her 😀

So we're getting nearly one-on-one lessons unlike Silvie who's in a class of 7! Jealous 🤣

After class we had some lunch and at 5 went to the movies and saw Megalopolis. I kind of wish I had seen it with my movie buddy and former band mate Xander because I'm certain we would have laughed our asses off 🤣🤣

After the movie we went down yo the Rambla, a 22km stretch of road along the coast and it was stunning (photos follow).

I just finished my homework and I'm dying from tiredness so I'll end here. ¡Chau!

The last day ...

The last day. One month flew by and so many feelings. A lot of gratitude to all the friends I've met here Silvie, Patrick, Jutta, Judy, Warren, Sara Jane, Rob, and especially my teacher these last two weeks Ana Sofia Castella one of, if not the best, teachers I've ever had. Montevideo is an enigma in a way. The local people are unusually kind, at least have been to me, very easy to know, and yetbthe city is in so much need. There are a great many homeless and the streets are cluttered with litter, which makes the experience so mixed. I will take away a lot personally. I want to have this experience again, soon, and I'm thinking Cusco, Peru. Today's final lesson Sofia concluded with a song from Jorge Derxler, Uruguayan songwriter and performer, with Emmys, an Oscar, and other awards and accolades (super interesting life).
