Day 2

Oof what a day ...

First my host mom Vicki and my flatmate Silvie 
Silvie is from Prauge, Czechia and is awesome, all four feet of her, well maybe 4'2”🤣 She's been a good companion as we have similar thinking about things, and we'll be in class together for the next week! She's leaving on the 10th but we've made fast friends 👍🏼

Our host mom is thoughtful, fastidious, and loves her dogs. The flat is nice, adequate enough, so all good here.

Today Silvie and I walked about 5km around the city, checked out a market that was several blocks long. They sold everything and we thought it was funny that at least a half block was dedicated to fish, not to eat, but as pets! Including all accessories for all you aquarium needs 😂 I didn't get any photos of that, but here's other stuff

So tonight we had a meal out but it was nothing special so I'll end with photos and say buenas noches. Tomorrow school starts 😱

The last day. One month flew by and so many feelings. A lot of gratitude to all the friends I've met here Silvie, Patrick, Jutta, Judy, Warren, Sara Jane, Rob, and especially my teacher these last two weeks Ana Sofia Castella one of, if not the best, teachers I've ever had. Montevideo is an enigma in a way. The local people are unusually kind, at least have been to me, very easy to know, and yetbthe city is in so much need. There are a great many homeless and the streets are cluttered with litter, which makes the experience so mixed. I will take away a lot personally. I want to have this experience again, soon, and I'm thinking Cusco, Peru. Today's final lesson Sofia concluded with a song from Jorge Derxler, Uruguayan songwriter and performer, with Emmys, an Oscar, and other awards and accolades (super interesting life).
