Day 14

Not much today.

Sunday is Punte del Este and it's on a tour bus to a resort so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Spanish is kinda hard because (today at least) I learned what a pronoun is, and worse, when I'm supposed to use it which is upsetting to my brain.

"It", apparently, is very important in Spanish, so much so there are (at least?) two ways to say it (and then you have to think about gender and singular or plural 🤯). According to sources who understand this far better than me, both are correct most of the time unless you want to add emphasis, or something like that.

One way is with something called the Direct Object. The other way is with a Direct Object Pronoun. Por ejemplo:

Yo compré el coche ayer can become Yo lo compré ayer. Where "lo", the indirect pronoun, refers to "el coche", the direct pronoun. Sheesh I hope I got that right.

Yet we're not done. When the verb is conjugated, we have another trick to use. Por ejemplo:

Voy a leer el libro esta tarde can become Voy a leerlo esta tarde. See? With the pronoun added to the end of the infinitive verb. Clever and so simple 🙄

I'm only going through this boring effort to remember it 🫤

The Rambla
A guy named Johnny invited me to this tonight. We chatted using Google translate mostly. He was cool. I went to the movies instead and saw Conclave. It's good.
A boy and his dog.
The Rambla is 22km long. Since I've been here (2 weeks now) I've walked the equivalent just around town 💪🏼🚶🏼‍♂️
Couldn't resist the model.
Well, well, well. Let's see how it compares to Sunrise, or Keny's, or Voodoo 🤔
Big mirror. Pin head.
Silvie sent a selfie from Prauge to show Vicki (the host) and I she's alive and cold and missing the sun:
That's it for today. Hasta proxima chicos ❤️
